Gesta principum Polonorum

A series of animated illustrations generated by AI based on the content of the “Gesta principum Polonorum” by Gallus Anonymous. Selected fragments concern the first part of the work. The author described the history of Poland during the reign of King Bolesław I the Brave.

The goal of this project is to recreate the appearance of places whose text descriptions are the only ones we have. Result obtained in 2023 can be funny. AI algorithm is often unaware of the context in which the generated illustration is located.

In 2023 the artwork won first place and the audience award at the Digital Ars Festival in Warsaw.
